Pretty Devils

I can see the darkness in your smile
I can hear the vain in your walk
I can see the confident face
And I see it's pain
Straining to be an angel
Funny how you manage to maintain

You think she is so innocent
But you won't see her true intentions
That of the serpent told of in Genesis
 With a resemblance of purity
Surely she won't have you fooled
Hmm...

And honesty
Bwahahahahahahaha!
Oh She will be honest
As much as she can make you believe
Now she has you where she wants you
You have been deceived.

Was It A Mistake?

You never asked me for much
But what you did ask ended us
I never wanted it to be that way
All I wanted was what was best
Best for the both of us

Thinking back now like
how...
How did I lose my love
How did I lose my best friend
The one would ride for me no matter what

A woman so poised and passionate
So humble and full of character
So willing to help others whenever
So loving to me

Why did you have to do that
You made me insecure about us
You made my heart grow tired of you
You hurt me
Then you asked me to trust you
I couldn't do it
So we had to end

These days I think about what we had
I think about the happiness
But I also think about the pain
But there was something more that hurt me the most
you loved me more than I loved you

Why did I have to lose you

Fall

As you move closer and closer to the edge your heart races
What led to this
You knew it would happen but never when
you keep walking forward
Now you're here, facing the cliff to the fall
Are you afraid?
Will you jump?

You look down and see nothing
You look back there's nothing worth seeing
You face the sky in hope of an answer
There is no easy answer for this
Facing the next step
to the fall
Will you jump?

Now you think about the what if's
The things that you may miss
The life that you could have had
And the life you are about to have
You take a deep breath
Close your eyes
And smile as you leap on faith
This fall is forever

There is no ground
The fall is forever

Will you jump?

My Big Problem... I Think

Do you remember when you were a kid and you always wondered why guys in movies or tv shows were so afraid of marriage? I was one of those kids. Now, as a young man I have found myself trapped in this box that I'm not sure I want to be out of any time soon... but eventually. This box I speak of is for protection. From what? Glad you asked. I seem to have this deeply implanted issue with marriage simply because I am not willing to give another person that much power in my life.

I was with some friends in Memphis last week. They were talking to me about being or about to become married. Of course, the single guys had to give them a hard time about it, respectfully. I told them about my issue and one of the guys said "you know, if you think about it like that you will be alone for the rest of your life." That struck me. I did not gain a sudden urge to want to jump into anything. What did happen was my usual state of a cognitive blunder of countless scenarios about how my life could be. At first I thought my disposition was normal. Now I see that this is probably more of a problem than I thought.

I'm usually very busy so this rarely pops up in my mind. However, today it came SO present to my mind that I decided to write this post that I'm sure people have stopped reading somewhere in the first or the middle of the second paragraph. If you have continued to read good job! You just got some comedy (maybe) out of the last couple of sentences. You may also find amusement out of the fact that during a conversation with my good friend that I forgot that the place I have been living in for about 6 years now has 3 bedrooms... but that's another story sorry for getting off topic. Anyway, I really do think that I have a major problem on my hands. What's your opinion? Is it a problem or not? Should I be worried? Should I ignore it? Did the top actually stop spinning at the end of Inception? Your feedback is more than welcome!
